Incorporating Branding and Identity work

I’ve done a bit of branding and marketing work for some of the larger companies in parallel to my UX / Product design initiatives. Where I haven’t always owned these initiatives, I have great experience working closely with branding and marketing teams to drive a more cohesive, end-to-end product experience.

Microsoft Azure Quantum:

Azure Quantum operated as a startup within Microsoft Azure. While I was creating spot illustrations for the Overview page, I noticed that consistent branding wasn’t being applied across all Azure Quantum properties, so I began exploring branding concepts and shared them with a product management leader. These explorations were later outsourced to an agency for final execution.

My designs centered on the added dimensionality inherent to quantum technology, initially incorporating Microsoft’s color palette. At leadership’s request, I refined the direction to focus solely on dimensionality to move quickly, streamline timelines, and avoid dependencies on Microsoft’s central branding teams.

Although, the final logo lacked the sharper dimensional artwork, the concept was still very much aligned. A number of subsequent Azure and Azure Quantum communications included the dimensional building block conceptual artwork I had created.
