Branding and Identity work
I don’t try to market the branding work I’ve done, simply because I enjoy product design / UX design more, and don’t want to distract from that focus in my portfolio.
Where I haven’t always owned these branding initiatives, I’m always game for a creative problem and jumping in to help drive the holistic product vision, which has many times included working with branding and marketing teams. Here’s some branding work I’ve done for some of the larger companies in parallel to my UX / Product design initiatives.
Microsoft Azure Quantum:
Azure Quantum operated as a startup within Microsoft Azure, where I observed inconsistent branding across teams. While creating spot illustrations for the Overview page, I began exploring branding concepts and shared them with a product management leader. These explorations were later outsourced to an agency for final execution; all but the final logo originated from my initial concepts.
My designs centered on the added dimensionality inherent to quantum technology, initially incorporating Microsoft’s color palette. At the request of leadership, I refined the direction to focus solely on dimensionality to streamline timelines and avoid dependencies on Microsoft’s central branding teams.

Subsequent use of concepts:
Although, the final logo lacked the sharper dimensional artwork, the concept was still very much aligned. A number of subsequent Azure and Azure Quantum communications likely included some of the dimensional building block conceptual artwork I had created.
